New Book Releases: May 2017!

It´s may, it´s sunny and beautiful (finally!) and this month has so many awesome releases I think we might as well get right to it!

So, get your wishlists ready and mark your calendars for these awesome releases. All titles are also linked to their respective Goodreads pages so you can stick them right onto your TBR!

A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas

Release date: May 2nd

Genre: Fantasy, YA/NA

Not gonna lie, I pre-ordered this a good while ago, I´ve been waiting for a year and I may or may not have squeaked a little when I saw it´s gloriously beautiful cover on my kindle this morning…

A Court of Wings and Ruin is the third and final installment of the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by the Fabulous and New York Times bestselling author Sarah J. Maas. If you´re already familiar with the series I reckon I don´t really have to tell you what it´s about. If you haven´t though, this series is a rollercoaster of emotion with magic and fey and action. It´s a really fantastic series so far and I´m getting stuck in as soon as I´ve written this post!

(disclaimer: this book/series contains mature content and is not recommended for younger readers, would qualify as YA/NA in my opinion)

The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan

Release date: May 2nd

Genre: Fantasy, YA, Adventure

For all of you half-bloods and Riordan fans, the wait is over. The Dark Prophecy is the second book in the Trials of Apollo series and it´s hit the shelves today. I personally haven´t read this series by Rick Riordan yet but after reading Magnus Chase I´m definitely interested to see more of his work!

In this series, we´re back to the greek mythology, following Apollo as he embarks on a journey across North America.

Loved Percy and left wanting more? Perhaps Apollo will be for you.

Textrovert by Lindsey Summers

Release date: May 2nd

Genre: YA, Contemporary, Romance

Originally a Wattpad story, Textrovert is now being printed.

When Keeley accidentally grabs the wrong phone, only to discover it belongs to the obnoxious Talon who´s just left for football camp – with her phone – it seems like a giant mistake. But, as she agrees to forward messages for a week, Keeley gets to know Talon and her feelings about him are tested.

This sweet-sounding romance is also out today and while I haven´t read it yet it sounds like the perfect summer read for a lazy, hazy may afternoon.

The Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh

Release date: May 16th

Genre: Fantasy, YA, Retellings

This is another one I´m personally very excited for! It´s supposed to have samurais, an alchemist, cunning rivalry, and a political marriage that the main character Mariko seems not so happy about. On her way to the imperial city of Inako, she narrowly escapes and ambush by a gang of bandits and she gets set out to try to infiltrate the ranks of the very clan who wanted to kill her.

This story often labeled by ARC-reviewers as a Mulan-retelling seems really awesome to me and I can´t wait to get my hands on it!

Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare

Release date: May 23rd

Genre: Fantasy, YA

As some of you might recognize from this Waiting for Wednesday, Lord of Shadows is yet another one of my anticipated releases this month (it´s like Christmas in May this year!) and I´m super excited to get to delve back into the Shadowhunter world towards the end of May.

I´ve said it before and I´ll say it again – if you haven´t already familiarized yourself with the world of Shadowhunting – the time is now!

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon

Release date: May 30th

Genre: Contemporary, YA, Romance

I´ve seen the cover for this floating around Goodreads a fair amount recently and just by the looks of it, it seems like a lovely summer read.

In this novel, a supposedly “laugh-out-loud, heartfelt YA romantic comedy, told in alternating perspectives, about two Indian-American teens” we get to follow the story about the couple as their parents have arranged for them to get married. They think they have each other figured out, both opposites clash and love has to work hard to prove itself in the most unexpected ways. It´s the story of how Dimple met Rishi.

One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus

Release date: May 30th

Genre: YA, Mystery, Contemporary, Thriller

In the mood for something more exciting as you sit back in the sun? One of Us Is Lying is the story about five strangers who walk into detention – and only 4 walks out alive. Everyone is suspected, everyone has something to hide.

Everyone has secrets, but how long would you go to protect them?

I´m hoping to find out as it hits shelves may 30th.

And that´s all for now lovelies! I´m going to go dive into ACOWAR now and slurp my Coke Zero… 😉

Oh, and stay tuned for an April Wrap-up/TBR as well as a review for Strange the Dreamer coming later this week.

Have a lovely tuesday and happy reading!
